Manuscript Writing Workshop

This workshop will be held in Boston on July 27th and 28th, 2017. The live intensive course will host Harvard professors who will teach the theoretical and practical aspects of writing a successful scientific manuscript or grant application. In this 2 day-workshop, participants would come after having been exposed to some online material in which they will practice and learn the main tools to successfully write a scientific manuscript. We encourage participants to bring their own manuscripts as to practice how to be a successful scientific writer.

What to Expect

The manuscript writing workshop is an intensive two-day crash course offered to participants from Boston and throughout the world who enroll in the 2017 PPCR main course component or have previously completed a PPCR course.


The two-day live intensive course will host Harvard professors who will give lectures and host group discussions. Students will participate in practical exercises.

Who Should Attend

Students who enroll in the 2017 PPCR course or have previously completed a PPCR course and are interested in manuscript writing are encouraged to apply for this workshop.

Program Content

Topics will include techniques of writing, how to write effective introductions, what is important to include in the methods section, how to write the results section as to convey results throughout the text, how to improve the flow of your manuscript, writing is telling a story: how to do this in scientific writing. There will be exercises to practice these concepts.
